Do you know a college student (or very motivated/capable high schooler) that is interested in learning the ins and outs of content development and data analytics in social media?
Rosie Riveters, an Arlington-based non-profit that works to encourage and motivate girls in STEM, is seeking an unpaid intern for the summer (or longer!) to generate content and analyze data trends on various social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. The position is ideally suited for a student interested in a career in communications and social media, particularly with a corresponding interest in science and tech, but any and all backgrounds will be considered, especially students studying a STEM field! While an intern located in the Washington D.C. metro-area would be ideal, we are willing to work remotely with the right candidate given the nature of the work. Ideally the intern would commit at least 10-15 hours per week to Rosie Riveters.
The social media intern has the unique opportunity to learn the field directly from our president, Brittany Greer, whose background in communications is unparalleled. Greer was the online campaign manager for the Conservative party in the UK for the 2010 general elections (she was named a rising star by Campaign & Elections for her work there), and went on to work on brand management in both agencies and non-profits. The internship will be a resume-worthy experience, and as an organization, we will actively advocate for the intern on the job market.
